Bissell Proheat 2x How To Clean Suction Gate
NOTE: There will be no suction to the hose while the Lift-Off Pod is connected to the base
Check for suction at the end of the hose
- Remove Lift-Off pod from base
- With both tanks secure in machine
- Unwind hose, remove tool if attached
- Turn machine on put end of hose in bowl of warm water
- If water in bowl is suctioned up skip down to NO SUCTION TO FLOOR
- If hose did not suction up the water
- Remove the dirty tank and empty
- Wipe off red lint screen
- Turn machine on and check for suction at the red lint screen (motor duct)
- If there is no suction visit a BISSELL Authorized Service Center or Contact Us
- Remove the clean tank
- Remove the suction gate to clean
- The suction gate cover can be removed by unscrewing two Philips head screws and lifting off
- Once off, you may clean the debris from inside
- Make sure the suction gate is properly closed once cleaned
- If not installed correctly it will cause loss of suction
- Inspect both tanks for damage, replace if damaged
- The red gasket should be attached to the cap on the bottom of the clean tank
- If missing it should be replaced
- If found in base of machine, it should be removed and reattached to the bottom of the clean tank
- Fill clean tank with warm water, secure cap tightly and put back in machine
- Return dirty tank to machine
- Turn machine on, checking to see if float is activating prematurely
- If float is rising to the top when dirty tank is empty, the dirty tank should be replaced
- If it is not rising to the top of the tank attempt to suction up a bowl of water using the hose
- If still not suctioning visit a BISSELL Authorized Service Center or Contact Us
Check for suction at the floor
- With Lift-Off pod still off base and set aside
- Confirm the black rectangular gasket is attached to the raised area in the center of the base
- If not, check the underside of the pod to see if it is stuck there
- If not, and it is missing it must be replaced
- Remove the 3 screws and remove the top and bottom floor nozzles
- Inspect each for damage, if damaged they should be replaced
- Rinse nozzles and reinsert into machine
- Insert the bottom nozzle by aligning the slots into the corresponding holes & rotate nozzle upward to secure
- The top nozzle notches insert into the bottom nozzle, then rotate upward to secure with screws
- The top nozzle should be flush with the bottom nozzle, no gaps at the seams
- Once reassembled, return Lift-Off pod to base (both clean and dirty tanks are secure)
- To make sure Pod is secured correctly the heated cleaning light should be on once machine is turned on
- Check for suction at the floor by putting a small amount of water down
- Turn machine on, lower handle and attempt to suction up the water
- If still not suctioning, visit a BISSELL Authorized Service Center or Contact Us
- The Lift-Off pod can be removed and hose used to suction up the water off floor
